From 1 August 2007, Home Information Packs will be compulsory for four bedroom properties and larger. Packs will be extended to smaller properties as soon as sufficient energy assessors are fully qualified.
If you're a buyer, you should ask for a Home Information Pack, which contains an Energy Performance Certificate and a number of other compulsory documents.
If you're a seller, you need to make sure you have commissioned a Pack by the time that you market your property.
Find out what's in Pack, what you should do as a buyer, and what you must do as a seller, and what to do if you're property is on the market before 1 August. If you're selling a property, you can get a subsidised Energy Performance Certificate with Packs bought before August 1st.
For more information on any of the above please contact Philip Thornton on 01271 325125
