Is pleasantly situated on the south-eastern acclivity of the Little Dart River, 10 miles west of Tiverton. Its Parish contains 1399 inhabitants, and 9958 acres of land. The Agricultural Association of Witheridge and six neighbouring parishes, has a numerous list of members and holds its meetings and its ploughing matches here. Woolacombe
Between Braunton and Ilfracombe lie some of Europe's finest and cleanest beaches, ideal for both families with children and watersports enthusiasts. The village of Woolacombe can be found along this spectacular golden coastline of soft sandy beaches, flanked by the dramatic headlands of Baggy Point and Morte Point. Woolacombes popularity has never been greater and was voted "Family Holiday of the Year" by the English Tourism Council, the nomination having been suggested by a regular holiday maker. Almost 3 miles of golden sands stretch from Putsborough in the south to Woolacombe village itself offering plenty of space for everybody. Bathing is particularly safe in the shallow waters which are patrolled by lifeguards during the main summer season.
