Situated on the outskirts of the old English market town of Barnstaple, North Devon - reputedly the earliest settlement of its type in England, The Wrey Arms is a large inn that sits back from the main Barnstaple to Bideford road, and is only five minutes from the main A361 link road.
Built in 1936, it is typically 1930's archetecture, with its brick and half mock Tudor exterior.
The spacious interior is full of character, with one of the bars being recently refurbished to add to the warmth of the already comfortable surroundings.
There are three real ales served alongside most popular english beers/lagers, which are rotated every two or three weeks, which can be enjoyed in either of the two bars, or outside in the secluded beer garden and patio.
Whether you call in for a quiet drink or want to join in the lively activities of the family run inn, there is something for everyone at the Wrey Arms. Pool, skittles darts, Karaoke, discos and private functions are all catered for, and theme days have recently been introduced.
The Wrey Arms is fast earning a reputation for good home cooked food, with the menus comprising of traditional english pub dishes created from fresh local produce.
In the manner of a true inn there is en-suite accommodation
to a high standard available.
