I have been taking photographs for the last 28 years and have made a living out of it for the last two. Previous to that, I was a graphic artist and studio manager of a leading advertising agency in Southampton where I had ten years' experience of digitally manipulating photographs. I had a book of colour photographs of Southampton published in 2000 and a range of greetings cards.

My photographs have been used for calendars, in tourist publications and magazines. I am based in a village outside Barnstaple, on the edge of Exmoor but I also spend lots of time in Hampshire. I have switched to digital in the last year because of its huge versatility and cost savings. I still do the occasional job in conventional 35mm and I'd be the first to admit that it can do things that digital can't - but the opposite is also true. It's like trying to compare a piano and a violin or an apple and an orange.

I am quite unashamed to say that I always try to take the most romantic/dramatic picture that I can. This frequently means early or late light but being around at those times is part of the joy of doing what I do.
