On Sunday 29th July 2007 Ilfracombe Pier will host the annual South West Birdman competition which involves lots of crazy people or so called 'would-be aviators' flinging themselves over the pier to see who can 'fly' the furthest or at least plummet hilariously into the waiting sea.

This great event is not just about people flying from the pier. There will be live music on the TRUCK STOP STAGE, featuring 9 bands of different genres, including THE GROUNDHOGS, featuring Tony Mcphee and on bass guitar, Dave Anderson (formerly HAWKWIND), details of other bands to follow.

The CHOPPER CLUB (Devonshire) will be displaying their Choppers (ooh err vicar!) next to the main stage and with our BIG SCREEN, showing live and recorded action, you will be sure not to miss a thing. With fairground attractions, stalls and refreshments, you are guaranteed of a fun packed and unique day out in a stunning setting.
